It’s almost Halloween which means it’s time for me to remind you that Rocky Horror was created in the 1970s by a person who now identifies as third-gender and also that it was not targeted at “mainstream” audiences. It was targeted at sci-fi and horror fans (back when that was not fashionable) and queer folks, and it played with and parodied tropes those audiences were expected to be familiar with.

You can have issues with the characters, or find some scenes go too far for your tastes, or just not enjoy it, but please don’t dismiss it or belittle the people for whom it means something special.
