Yeah some girls get their period as young as like. 9 there are girls who have gotten it even younger. Pushing tampons on them (and all young girls) is frankly… disgusting
also let’s stop saying “period”=womanhood because it absolutely does not lol
is there like a certain age u think someone should be before they should be taught about tampons? i honestly don’t get what’s “disgusting” about it when it’s a very convenient (and way more discrete) method than using pads… it’s not like your vagina is going through any major physical changes that wouldn’t allow for tampon insertion at a specific age….
I don’t think girls shouldn’t be taught about how to use them. I think tampons shouldn’t be pushed on them (especially when they are very young…) as if it’s their only option and it shouldn’t be assumed that every girl is going to be able to be comfortable using them. It’s not about whether the vagina is “unable” to handle it, it’s that I honestly think it’s creepy! And weird! To tell a 9 year old girl, as a lot of people push on girls… to stick something up their vagina because “they’re a woman now”
Its weird to tell a child to insert something into their vagina when they probably have very little knowledge of how a vagina even works. I’m 19 I still find tampons very invasive and uncomfortable. When i was even just 12 I felt wrong because I wasn’t able to use a tampon bc it hurt. It’s just the truth that for most people, and certainly for younger people with periods, that pads are much easier to use.
Literally. It caused physical pain for me the first time I used them at 13 and they’re still not particularly… comfortable for me
